Lock Your Phone Away

The maybe most radical but simple solution to not get distracted from your phone is to just lock it away. I know, this might sound a little too easy and unsuitable for this intention. But certain solutions allow you, to physically lock your smartphone away. They are called time-locking containers/boxes. You can check out one on Amazon below:

Downgrade to a flip phone

YouTuber Matt D'Avella posted a video where he decided to downsize to a flip phone for a certain time. Worth a watch:

Get a Light Phone

Digital Wellbeing Apps, Focus-Mode & Apples Downtime

Another possibility to keep yourself away from your smartphone is the Focus Mode that can be found on most Android devices. Sometimes it's also called Zen Mode. Or it's inside the digital wellbeing app. In iOS and iPadOS from Apple, it's called downtime. You can find it in Settings -> Screentime. Downtime disables all apps you want disabled and only allows phone calls.

This feature helps you to keep your focus on what you need to do and disables all apps you want to have disabled while it's activated.

Zen Mode is even more powerful. It disables your mobile phone completely and shows you a countdown. While the countdown is on, you won't be able to use your phone.

Go hard - the old school way

Remember what your parents had when they were younger? Yes, right. Nothing. No smartphones. No Facebook, no Instagram, no TikTok or Twitter. Follow them and delete all your social media profiles and sell your smartphone. This method is pretty crazy and you might should start with one of the upper methods first.
